After attending Michigan State University, I went to work at Hallmark Homes in Clinton Township, MI in the spring of 1986. It was a great time to be in the business, Hallmark was the number one dealer our first year and we never looked back – remaining the number one Fairmont dealer in the country as well as the number one single location mobile home dealer in Michigan for 20 years in a row.
In the fall of 2001, I opened Huron Manufactured Homes on M-25 in Fort Gratiot and despite the challenges of the post 9-11 era we thrived selling manufactured and modular houses at that location until 2011 when we moved to Dove Rd. in Port Huron Township, just one half mile from I-94 and one mile from Marysville.
On Dove Rd. we not only have a very large model display area but plenty of room to store the previously-owned mobile homes we buy before they are shipped to Canada and the western USA. I really appreciate our new location not only because it’s easy to get to from metropolitan Detroit but also because it’s so close to St. Clair Township and my wife and daughters.
Although we still sell modular homes, Huron Homes’ primary business is buying and selling previously owned mobile homes. We have many, many buyers most of whom are out of state and even out of the country in Ontario, Canada. Our location, eight miles from the Blue Water bridge and right next to I-69 and I-94, is perfect!
